MARGAO: The Konkan Railway Corporation (KRC) has confirmed that the viral photo of labourers standing at the Pernem tunnel is outright fake.
The Railways has informed that they were labourers who wished to go to their places from Goa and have not arrived in State.

The KRC explained that on Wednesday evening, i.e April 29, around 72 migrant labourers, natives of Uttar Pradesh had come to Pernem Railway Station expecting to board a train to proceed back to UP.
Pernem Station Master immediately informed the local authorities regarding the arrival of the labourers. The local authorities have taken immediate action and dropped them back to Porvorim.
However, it is found that a Facebook post is circulated in WhatsApp groups wherein it is mentioned that the labourers are entering Goa through Konkan Railway route which is completely false and baseless.
Konkan Railway has already instructed its staff to keep a strict vigil while on duty to prevent such incidents.
