PERNEM: Pernem police arrested one Omkar Tejram, a native of Himachal Pradesh, for allegedly possessing 2.7 kg of charas worth Rs 8,10,000 at Arambol.
PI Sandesh Chodankar said that he received information that a person was moving with drugs in Madhalawada, Arambol area. Accordingly, he formed a team and raided the place between 1.30 am and 3.45 am on Tuesday.
The accused was trapped when he had come near Arambol fish market to sell drugs to customer. On search, the accused was found possessing drugs suspected to be charas weighting 2.700 kg. The accused has been booked under NDPS Act.
Besides PI Sandesh Chodankar, the raiding team included PSI Mahesh Kerkar, PSI Sagar Dhatkar, PC Prasad Tuyekar, Premnath Sawaldesai, Sandeep Gawade, Swapnil Shirodkar, Yogesh Gaonkar and Omprakash Palni.
