MARGAO: Konkan Railway Police have arrested one Marshal Martin, resident of Rawanfond, here, on Monday under section 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) of IPC. He was produced in court and has been remanded to three days police custody.
Martin’s arrest comes after Pradeep Pandey of UP and Rahul Singh of Bihar, who were caught on August 26 midnight while trying to smuggle a consignment of 1,640 liquor bottles of various brands worth Rs one lakh to Gujarat, confessed they had purchased the spurious liquor from the former.
According to police sources, the accused was refilling bottles of various IMFL and local brands with spurious product and selling it for smuggling by KRC trains outside Goa.
