PONDA: The Judicial Magistrate First Class Ponda on Monday remanded one Phool Singh (24), a labourer from Madhya Pradesh, to five days judicial custody in an attempt to murder case.
According to Ponda police, the accused attempted to murder his colleague while he was asleep on late Sunday night at a rented room, near Bandodkar Sports ground, Bandora. The reason for attack is learnt to be loud music played by the victim.

Victim Mahesh Singh Lodhi (33), also a native of MP, suffered several wounds as the accused had attacked on his arms and chest with a long koita. He is undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
Police said a group of around 11 labourers including the victim had come to Goa on Sunday evening and were staying in rented rooms within the same premises.
“Since some of them had come to Goa for the first time, they were enjoying with loud music. Irked with their noise, the accused confronted the victim. But, other colleagues intervened and pacified him,” said police.
“However, around 11 pm, when all were asleep, the accused came with a long koita, usually used to clean big fish in the market and attacked Lodhi. When the victim cried for help after the attack, others woke up. Later, his colleagues immediately rushed the victim to Ponda Sub District Hospital and later shifted to GMC. Based on a complaint of a colleague, they arrested the accused,” the police added.
An offence under Section 307 (Attempt to Murder) of Indian Penal Code has been registered at Ponda Police Station and PSI Sajith Pillai is the investigation officer.
