VASCO: Rear Admiral BS Parhar and Manjit Parhar, president of Goa Naval Wives Welfare Association, have pledged to donate their organs, at an organ donation seminar at Rajhans (Naval Auditorium).
The Goa Naval Area headquarters had invited some eminent doctors, surgeon Captain CS Naidu and Colonel Sandeep Thareja, both trained in England in organ transplant to apprise people to come forward and pledge their organs.
“Indian Armed Forces has set up an organisation ~ Armed Forces Organ Retrieval and Transplant Authority (AORTA), which has spearheaded this noble concept with a success rate of over 90 per cent.”
