PANJIM: Principal Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, a 1991-batch IAS officer assumed charge as Chief Secretary of Goa with effect from Tuesday.
Goel took over from Parimal Rai, who retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation.

Goel has been given the charge of all departments such as Home, Vigilance, Chief Vigilance Officer, Personnel, PWD, Mines and Geology, which were held by the outgoing Chief Secretary, in addition to Finance, Forest, Town and Country and Planning and Statistics which were earlier allocated to him.
