PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant reacted strongly to Siolim MLA Vinod Palyekar’s statements, saying, “This is Palyekar’s frustration. When he was in power, he never took a review of anything or about what his happening in his constituency. When you are out of power, you come to know everything.”
Defending the police, Sawant referred to the recent number of raids that have been conducted.
“I can proudly say that under my leadership, we have been able to seize the biggest haul of Rs 3 crore worth drugs. Maybe, Palyekar has not seen. In the last 3 months, we have conducted tremendous number of raids and nabbed many persons,” he said.
Sawant continued, “This is nothing but unrest for being out of power. Instead of criticising they should congratulate police”.
He added that the police will not tell the MLA what they are doing or where they are raiding.
“They are doing a good job. They will not tell Palyekar what they are doing but the results are there for everyone to see,” he said.
Referring to letter made by Palyekar, he said “I have sent his letter for verification. Let the police verify and take action. Sometimes complaints are given because of enmity”.
The CM further added that Goa has got two awards from India Today Group for Best Performing State in Cleanliness and State of the State.
