Panjim Police Arrest Kerala Man for Allegedly Hacking Phone, Stealing ₹7.54 Lakh via UPI

Panjim Police have arrested Abdul Haseeb K.P., a native of Kerala, for allegedly hacking the mobile phone of a Panaji resident and transferring ₹7.54 lakh through multiple unauthorised UPI transactions.

According to police, the accused allegedly gained access to the victim’s mobile phone and carried out several unauthorised transactions, resulting in the transfer of ₹7.54 lakh.

Police subsequently traced and arrested Haseeb in connection with the alleged cybercrime.

A case has been registered against him under Sections 318(4) and 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events and determine whether others were involved in the alleged fraud.
