PDA market at Tisk-Usgao renamed in tribute to Ravi S. Naik

As a heartfelt tribute to former Chief Minister and sitting Minister Ravi S. Naik, who passed away earlier this month, the PDA market at Tisk-Usgao will now be officially named in his honour. The renaming and renovation of the decades-old market complex, originally built in 1992 during Naik’s tenure as Chief Minister, was commemorated on the 12th-day remembrance ceremony.

Urban Development Minister Vishwajit Rane inaugurated the plaque marking the completion of the extensive project, which aims to modernize the market and enhance facilities for both vendors and visitors. Speaking on the occasion, Rane said, “Ravi was a brilliant scholar, a leader who loved his people, enthusiastic, skilled, exceptionally visionary, and a patron of arts and sciences.” The Rs 25 crore project, executed under the supervision of GSUDA, will upgrade the market infrastructure with modern amenities while preserving its historical significance. This initiative ensures that the market continues to serve the people of Usgao, the constituency that Ravi Naik nurtured and developed with vision and dedication for decades.
