BICHOLIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday disclosed that the government is planning to commence ITI for women in the State.
The Health Minister was speaking after inaugurating the training programme for principals, group instructors, vocational instructors and non-teaching staff organised by the Goa Institute of Management.
He said that it is easy to make a statement on skill development but we should make it happen.
“With the changing time it is very important to tie up with the GIM,” he said.
“We need to create right type of jobs and there is a need to tie up with the institutions for training of the students,” he added.
Secretary Skill Development C R Garg said that the Government of India is doing great work in skill development programme. “This training programme is an attempt to make youth acquire skills which would be useful for them in the future,” Garg said.
Director of Skill Development Deepak Desai, Director of GIM Dr Ajit Parulekar were among others present for the function.
