PM Modi Announces Free Online Coaching to Ease Financial Burden on Competitive Exam Aspirants

During his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a government initiative to provide free online coaching for competitive examinations. Highlighting the heavy financial and emotional toll private coaching centers place on poor and middle-class families, PM Modi emphasized that students should not have to leave their homes or strain family finances to pursue their career goals.

Leveraging India’s robust digital public infrastructure and top educators, the program aims to democratize test preparation nationwide. The announcement comes on the heels of recent youth-led protests addressing examination transparency and systemic irregularities across the country.

Call for Youth Participation in Census 2027 and Tackling ‘Dimagi Naxals’

In his address, PM Modi also urged India’s youth to actively participate in the upcoming Census 2027. Stating that accurate data is vital for shaping effective national policies and development roadmaps, he called on young citizens to dedicate a few hours to the national effort.

Addressing national security, the Prime Minister noted that armed Maoist extremism is nearing its end after decades of conflict. However, he warned against “dimagi Naxals”—individuals holding extremist mindsets within policy and academic spaces—calling for their identification and isolation to ensure uninterrupted national progress.
