MARGA O: The police are waiting for the injured husband-wife duo of Raj and Isabel Gomes to throw light on the daring Nuvem robbery, even as the Maina Curtorim police rounded up suspects as part of the investigations into the case.
Margao Sub-divisional Police officer, Deputy Superintendent Mohan Naik said the police could not record the statement of the husband-wife duo since they are still in a state of shock and trauma after Tuesday’s robbery. “Though the duo are fit and out of danger, the police could not record their statement today and will do so in a day or two”, he said.
Replying to a question, the Dy SP said the statements of the husband-wife duo is important in the investigations since it will throw light on the number of persons who had barged inside the bungalow on Tuesday. “It will help us to draw the sketch of the accused persons based on the description given by the injured, the language the accused spoke inside the house, the nature and value of the stolen property etc”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Maina Curtorim police has rounded a number of persons as suspects in the case. So far, the police has not been able to work in a particular direction and the cops are waiting for the husband –wife duo to throw light in the incident.
Raj and Isabel were attacked and robbed in their bungalow at Cupem-Nuvem in the wee hours of Tuesday by unknown persons, who had barged inside the bungalow by removing the window grill.
