PONDA: The State Election Commission has increased the poll timings by one hour for the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) elections on May 12.
The poll timings, which were earlier scheduled from 8 am to 5 pm, have now been extended from 7 am to 5 pm.
“The State Election Commission on Thursday issued a notification that the polling of votes will begin at 7 am and end at 5 pm,” informed Returning Officer Johnson Fernandes.
In all, 60 candidates are in the fray and the election campaigning will end on May 10 at 5 pm.
Fernandes said severe action would be taken against those found involved in double voting.
