Ponda MLA wants CM, ministers, MLAs to undergo COVID test

PONDA: Opposing the decision to allow tourists in Goa and the starting of hotel industry, Ponda MLA Ravi Naik on Wednesday demanded that the Chief Minister, cabinet ministers and MLAs should undergo COVID test as they interact with the public.

He said, “Goa is small with a population of 16 lakh and government should reconsider its decision to start tourism and hotels at this stage when COVID is spreading.”

Naik said the government should be extra cautious and take COVID spread seriously by adopting strict measures to contain the virus spread. 

Addressing a press conference after three policemen including Ponda PI testing positive for COVID, he even suggested imposing a lockdown for some period to contain the spread of the virus.
