The roads are wide enough but most of them are used by car and other vehicles for parking. This makes people coming to Ponda from outside the taluka struggle to find a place to park. Because right from Government Complex Building at Tisk Ponda to the Bus Stand the road sides are fully occupied with vehicles lessening the width of the road and causing traffic congestion. To add to this, the ongoing sewerage work is also adding to the problem.

Pondaites face major problem for parking especially at Ponda Main Market, near SBI, Dada Vaidya Chowk, near Government Complex Building and at Tisk Ponda.

Though the Ponda Municipal Council has notified parking spaces, these are very few and the town urgently needs more parking places, say the locals.

Locals demand that PMC arrange proper system and space for parking. Most of the roadside parking space as well as space available in front and behind the new market complex are occupied by vendors and their goods. As a result little space is left for public to park vehicles. .

According to the PMC Chairperson, Shantaram Colvekar, three multilevel parking facilities are proposed in the draft ODP for the town. Besides this, there have been parking spaces proposed at various other places in the town.
