Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has urged Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao to refrain from making what he described as false claims about the conviction rate of the Goa Police.
Sawant defended the police department’s conviction record and said statements presenting the figures inaccurately could create a misleading impression about the state’s law and order situation.
The Chief Minister stressed that Goa, as a major tourism destination, needs to maintain a clear image of being safe and secure.
He said it was important to communicate that Goa remains a safe place for both residents and tourists, while highlighting the role of the police and government in maintaining law and order across the state.
