PONDA: Five Bandora panchas owing alliance to Sudin Dhavalikar have urged the public not to participate in the morcha against Sanatan Sanstha (SS) on Sunday. They claimed that SS is doing religious work and is not involved in any misdeeds. They also stated that the charges against the Sanatan seeker in the Govind Pansare murder case have to be proved in court.
A few days ago, Bandora residents announced that they would hold a morcha and public meeting to protest the alleged anti-social activities of the Sanatan ashram at Ramnathi.
Addressing the press on Wednesday, panch Ramchandra Naik alleged that the morcha organisers only wanted to destroy the peace in the village and earn publicity. The panch members supporting him are Deputy Sarpanch Santosh Fadte, Rajesh Naik, Sulaksha Naik, and ZP member Chitra Fadte.
On the other hand, Bandora panch Sharmila Lotlikar has extended her support to the agitating villagers, who want the Sanatan ashram shifted as soon as possible. She stated that people from across Goa, and not just in Bandora, are supporting the agitation. She also appealed to Goans to participate in large numbers.
Meanwhile, Ramnath Yuva Sangh president Saurabh Lotlikar has stated that the Bandora locals are firm on holding the morcha and public meeting as the government, despite their ultimatum last week, is doing nothing to ban or shift the Sanatan ashram. He also urged Goans to participate in large numbers and clarified that the morcha will be held at Ramnathi and not the Ponda bus stand, as earlier decided.
The public meeting in Ramnathi on Sunday will start at 3.30 pm
