GPDA president Paresh Joshi said the association has decided to support the call given by AIPDA for phase-wise action to reduce operational costs. “To begin with, we have decided to observe a black out for 15 minutes on Wednesday. On November 3, we will observe ‘no purchase day’ during which no petrol pumps will purchase products from oil companies. On November 5, all petrol pumps will close at 7 pm to curtail operating expenditure,” he said.
Joshi added, “Our phase-wise action will be decided in consultation with AIPDA, however, if the situation does not improves we will go for regular closure of petrol pumps by 7pm daily. Similarly pumps will not operate on second and fourth Saturdays. All these action are being proposed to curtail operational costs and to be within the currently paid margins,” he said.
GPDA’s demands are to increase the dealer margin every six months as per the Apurva Chandra Committee report, proper blending of ethanol process, invoicing of supplies as per automation receipt, realistic transportation rates for transport tenders, toilet issue and its solution and expedite IIP and IIM studies to incorporate the results in determining the cost factor in the dealer margin formula proposed and accepted by the committee.
