A tree fell on a shop belonging to Jyoti Naik from Bicholim market, causing damages of Rs 5,000. Fatima Fernandes from Chorao also suffered damages as a tree fell on her house. A mango tree fell on electric poles and an adjacent chapel at Assonora, causing damages of Rs 2,000. Datta Mandil from Amona suffered damages of Rs 25,000 after a tree fell on his house. Government property worth Rs 5,000 in the premises of Government College, Sankhali was also destroyed. Several trees also fell at Advalpal, Usap, Nanoda, and Mulgao.
Rain havoc in Bicholim
BICHOLIM: Heavy rains and cyclonic winds paralyzed life in Bicholim on Friday. Several trees fell on houses and roads, keeping fire personnel busy the entire day.
