MARGAO: A rasta roko by the Curtorim Panchayat members and the public on Monday helped to draw attention of the PWD to the dilapidated condition of the link road at Acxem, opposite Zamgalle road junction.
After the road was blocked for quite some time, PWD officials came to the spot with material to repair the damaged road. They carried out work on filling up the potholes which posed danger to motorists.
Curtorim deputy Sarpanch J Santano Rodrigues told the media that they had resorted to road blockade to open the eyes of the PWD authorities to the bad condition of the road and the need to construct a protection wall for the link road. “We had made several representations and submitted umpteen reminders to take up the road repair work, but in vain,” he said.
