PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday said that the government has refused permission for the proposed double line from Vasco to Hospet proposed by the South Western Railway.
“Whatever has come (for permissions) we have refused. TCP has also refused permission,” the chief minister said, adding, “The double line will not be permitted in Goa.”

He indirectly hinted that this was being done due to MPT and they were putting the double tracks because of the coal berths.
According to information, the doubling of railway track is necessary for Karnataka to move imported coal from Mormugao Port to the steel industries and upcoming thermal power plants in Jevargi in Gulbarga and Bellary districts.
