MARGAO: Supporters and workers have given green signal to the newly elected Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco to go ahead with the decision to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party in forming the new government, as a meeting was held at MLAs residence on Friday. Reginaldo held a meeting with his supporters and other workers at Curtorim in the morning hours, and after deliberating on the future plans all of them unanimously resolved to give green signal to their MLA pertaining to take their own decision in supporting the BJP.
A few of his close aides apparently addressed the gathering and congratulated Reginaldo, who got elected as an independent candidate, despite ups and downs in the recent days.
“Yes, it has been resolved to give green signal to Reginaldo, keeping in mind the betterment of the Curtorim constituency. It will not be right to put obractions before the MLA, as it will badly hamper the development of the constituency,” said Anthony Pango.
Speaking to Herald, Reginaldo also admitted that his supporters and workers have agreed to support the decision which will be taken very shortly. He also gave clear indications that there will be unconditional support to the BJP in forming the government.
“Yes, I had a meeting with my supporters and workers, as I had said before that every decision of mine will be taken by taking my people into confidence. They have assured to support my decision,” said Reginaldo.
He also made a point clear that there is no condition pertaining to demanding any ministry or other things in supporting the BJP.
