PERNEM: Parts of the body suspected to be that of a woman in her thirties were found near the Konkan Railway bridge at Porascadem in Pernem taluka on Saturday and has baffled cops.

Police suspect that the woman must have been murdered two days ago.
The incident came to light after a local who was passing by saw the parts of a woman’s body and informed the police.
A team of Pernem police rushed to the spot and conducted a panchanama and the body was sent to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.
Police are yet to identify the deceased and stated that they had not received any report of a missing woman.
Pernem police have registered it as a case of murder and are investigating the case under the supervision of DySP Rajesh Kumar.
