MAPUSA: The Goa Civic and Consumer Action Network (GOACAN) has urged the authorities to take immediate measures to repair the non-functional lifts in the Excise Office at Mapusa.
The office of the Excise Inspector, Mapusa is situated on the fifth floor and the people are forced to climb about 100 steps to reach the office to get their work done, due to non-functioning of lifts.

GOACAN Coordinator Roland Martins in a letter to the Bardez Deputy Collector regarding the non-functioning of lifts of a private building where government offices are situated has urged him to conduct a site inspection along with officials of the Mapusa Municipal Council, PWD, Electricity Department and Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department.
Martins has urged the authorities to make measures to alleviate the hardships faced by the visitors. He said that failure to repair the lifts will be regarded as a deficiency of service under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
