A Bench of Justices Uday Umesh Lalit and K M Joseph did not find any ground in his submission for relief since he is languishing in jail for the past 13 years. It had adjourned the case for eight weeks on February 22 at the request of his lawyer Pranesh.

Parab had a tiff with one Sakharam Naik at the shack for taking drinks and food on June 17, 2004 and walking out without paying the bill of Rs 350. He went there again late in the night but he was refused food.

Early next morning, he went to the shack with four others and stabbed the cook Ravi Jhinde and waiter Khadak Singh. The waiter succumbed. An additional sessions judge of Margao had sentenced him to life imprisonment with fine in October 2005.
