MAPUSA: Local taxi operators from Siolim constituency, on Tuesday, approached the Siolim MLA and former WRD Minister Vinod Palyekar in connection with their demand on scrapping GoaMiles app. They also demanded Palyekar to raise the issue in the coming budget session.
Taxi operators marched to the office of local MLA and highlighted the issues that they are facing due to existence of GoaMiles in the State. Palyekar informed the local taxi operators that he is with them on this issue.
The local taxi operators stressed that since Goa is a small State it does not require an app based taxi. There are 30,000 taxis which are enough to run the tourism in the State, they said.
“The app-based GoaMiles is operated by outsiders without any security concern of the passengers ,” said of the taxi operators.
