SANGUEM: In a goodwill gesture, a security guard attached to the botanical garden at Selaulim Dam, Sanguem, recently returned a purse containing cash and other personal documents to its rightful owner, which he had found in the dam area during the course of his duty.
Sources informed that last Sunday, when the security guard Vardhan Velip was on duty at the Selaulim Dam, he found a lady’s purse and immediately informed about the same to his supervisors Dhulo Shelke and Vishnu Gaonkar.
On checking the purse, the supervisors, found the address of the owner and informed them to collect the purse from the office of the security guard after proper identification.
A woman came to the office and collected the purse which she had lost during her visited to the Selaulim Dam on the same day. Besides personal identification cards, the purse also contained cash of Rs 3245. The owner was very happy over the kind gesture of the security officials and thanked the guards for their sincerity.
The officials attached to the Selaulim dam also complimented the staff for their gesture and urged the guards to maintain the sincerity during the course of their posting.
