Services resume on KR route
HERALD REPORTER
MARGAO, AUG 18
Train services on the Konkan Railway route were disrupted on Wednesday morning following a landslide at the Ratnagiri section.
Train services, however, resumed around noon, bringing relief to the passengers stranded at the Margao Railway Station.
KRC Sr Public Relations Manager, Baban Ghatge informed that services on the KR route have been restored this afternoon. He said that the Konkan Kanya Express departed for Mumbai from the Margao Railway Station this evening.
Earlier in the morning, passengers were seen anxiously waiting at the Margao Railway Station for the resumption of the train services. Many were seen inquiring at the station counter on the resumption of services and planning alternatives in case of major problem.
This is the second time in the last one month that train services on the KR route have been hit hard by landslide at Ratnagiri.
Last time around, it took more than a week for the KR to restore the route after the massive landslide and heavy rainfall hampered restoration work.
