QUEPEM: A delegation of Sesa Goa workers from Codli mines met PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral and brought to his notice that they are going through tremendous hardships after the mining ban and requested him to use his good offices to e-auction iron ore belonging to the company.
After listening to their grievances, Cabral told them that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had already conducted some auction of ore on an experimental basis and if there were any errors, they would be rectified so that the process of e-auctioning is streamlined.
After the meeting, one of the workers Lakshdeep Arsekar said that their meeting with the Minister was part of their campaign of meeting Ministers from the mining areas in a bid to resume mining activities. “If we don’t get back to work then we will be on the streets because we have come of age and no company will hire us,” he said.
