MARGAO: The Colva police have sought assistance of mobile service provider to assist ongoing investigations into the prostitution racket which was busted on Friday night.
Colva Police station in-charge, PI Uttam Raut Desai informed that the police are on the look out for the two persons involved in running the racket. “The police has asked the mobile service provider for assistance to trace down the two persons, including the pimp, involved in the racket”, PI Desai said.
He said the police will also seek details on the advertisement inserted in the local print media to help zero in on the accused persons.
Meanwhile, Bailancho Ekvott President Auda Viegas has demanded a thorough probe into the sex racket, saying that the police should go to the bottom of the racket to stop the activity.
In the past, local villagers, including the Colva Civic and Consumer Forum had complained of prostitution racket being conducted by some persons in the village under the guise of massage parlours. In fact, the activists had been demanding that the police maintain a close vigil on the activities of the some of the hotels suspected to be involved in prostitution racket under the guise of massage parlours.
Women activists have demanded the closure of the hotels founds guilty in the prostitution rackets to act as a deterrent for other establishments to stay away from the flesh trade.
