MARGAO: TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai informed that the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) will be formed as soon as the code of conduct ends. He also informed that the chief secretary, SGPDA and he himself have taken cognizance of the report of people waiting to occupy their homes and would issue completions only after the said projects have complied with the prescribed rules and regulations.
Vijai said that he has inquired with the SGPDA and has found out that there are few projects that need to fulfill certain regulations and would be issued completion after that. He also clarified that he is not going to be pressurised by anyone on this front.
“There are some parts of the Ponda area PDA which come under village areas and if the body is declared it will be a violation of code of conduct. However, as soon as the code of conduct is gone the authority will be formed,” Vijai said.
Vijai also expressed his disgust over the haste of the developers to circumvent RERA. “We have to welcome RERA as it will empower the buyer of the flat and protects his interests,” he added.
