BICHOLIM: BJP National President Amit Shah on Wednesday said that if the people of Goa want Manohar Parrikar as Chief Minister, the party is open to review its decision after the elections.
Addressing a public rally at Bicholim, Shah said, “I receive a lot of phone calls and letters from the people of Goa that they want Manohar Parrikar back as Chief Minister, but on the other hand Parrikar has a lot of work at the Centre in protecting the country. In this regard the BJP has kept its options open. If the people want him back as CM, the party can review this decision after the elections.”
He further said that Goa has witnessed instability, corruption, unemployment and a lot of scams under the Congress tenure but in the last five years under the BJP, the State has witnessed stability and development.
“In the last five years, Parrikar and Parsekar have done development in urban and rural areas and we can proudly say that the government has not given the opposition a single chance to levy corruption charges on us. Only BJP can provide stability and development under Modi,” he added.
Shah said, “After BJP came to power in Goa, our government had a tough time due to the Congress mining scam but Parrikar managed to give assistance to those affected due to mining.”
He further said that BJP has given Goa a stable and a development oriented government. “Today the cardiac specialty block at GMC is equipped with such good facilities that people need not go to Mumbai, Ahmadabad or other cities for treatment. Be it public schemes, infrastructure, employment or the Mopa airport will create thousands of jobs.”
Shah also appealed to the people to give a stable government to take forward the development works as the State had earlier lacked in development because of unstable governments.
