MARGAO: South Goa independent candidate Shalom Sardinha on Wednesday said he has lodged a complaint against Congress candidate Reginaldo Lourenco for not stating his criminal background in the election affidavit.
Addressing the media, Shalom said though a FIR stands registered against the Congress candidate for forgery, nothing is mentioned in his affidavit before the returning officer. Replying to a question, he said his father Francisco Sardinha has not joined his campaign because the sitting MP was still a Congressman. “Though my father had given his blessings to my candidature, he has not joined my campaign because he is still a Congressman”, Shalom said. He said he would accord top most priority to schools.
