CUNCOLIM: It appears that the Cuncolim Industrial Estate is slowly turning into the hotspot for COVID cases as another six workers of an industrial unit tested positive on Saturday.
It may be recalled that on Friday seven workers tested positive following which the South Goa Collector issued orders to shut down two industrial units for 14 days.

Meanwhile, four family members of the infected worker of the Cuncolim Municipal Council (CMC) including his wife, son, sister-in-law and nephew also tested positive on Saturday.
It may be recalled that six CMC garbage collection workers tested positive.
As a precautionary measure, CMC has stopped door-to-door garbage collection. Some of the workers recovered while the test results of others came negative.
Meanwhile, the BJP Cuncolim Mandal has raised concerns over the increasing number of cases. BJP leader Sudesh Bhise presented a memorandum to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant seeking his intervention for taking over NUSI Hospital as COVID Care Centre which is currently shut.
The locals are opposed to declaring NUSI Hospital as COVID Care Centre. They say before government takes over NUSI hospital it should find out the reason why NUSI was forced to shut the hospital.
