Social activist Swapnesh Sherlekar was released by the Bicholim Police on Thursday after being questioned for several hours in connection with the recent protest at Karapur-Sarvan over a proposed project in the area.
According to police sources, Sherlekar was summoned for inquiry regarding his alleged involvement in the agitation staged by local residents opposing the project. The protest had drawn significant attention, with villagers raising concerns over the potential impact of the development.
After detailed questioning, police allowed Sherlekar to leave. No arrest was made in the matter at the time of his release.
