State gets Rs 518 cr as GST

PANJIM:  The State of Goa received Rs 518 crore for the month of November 2021 in the form of Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collected. 

This marks a 73 per cent increase to the GST revenue collection for the corresponding period of the previous year, November 2020, which was Rs 300 crore.

According to the Union Finance Ministry, Central tax enforcement agencies, along with the State counterparts have detected large tax evasion cases, mainly cases relating to fake invoices, with the help of various information technology (IT) tools developed by Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) that use the return, invoice and e-way bill data to find suspicious taxpayers.
