MARGAO: The Goa Forward Party on Monday said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has lost control over the administration and alleged that the ministers consider themselves to be independent “chief minister” of their departments and cited the two different orders pertaining to COVID protocol issued by the Revenue and Education Departments.
Briefing the media persons, Goa Forward Party Vice President Durgadas Kamat pointed out that both the South and North District Collectors have issued orders extending the restrictions till June 14, as “there is a surge” in COVID cases in the State.

However, the Education Department has issued a circular clearly stating that there is an “improvement in COVID” situation in the State and hence educational institutes are asked to re-open from June 7.
“Which circular should we believe in and why are two different departments of the same government stating two different things about the COVID cases in Goa,” asked Durgadas, who added that it appears as if Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserrate thinks she is the chief minister as the Collectors issued order extending the curfew.
He accused the government of harassing the teachers and pointed out that last year teachers were asked to conduct a survey and many of them got infected with COVID and now again the government is playing with the teachers.
While alleging that the Chief Minister has lost control over the administration, Durgadas asked the government to stop harassing the teachers.
“Now that the mining has stopped it is time the Chief Minister concentrates on administration,” he said and added stop the copy, cut and paste formula, while issuing orders or circulars.
