PANJIM: Social activist Tara Kerkar, booked for allegedly kidnapping a month-old baby, was on Friday granted conditional bail by the Children’s Court. Among a set of conditions, the Court has asked the accused to appear before the investigation team at Vasco police for five days from Saturday and not to interfere with the victim or victim’s family and witnesses, etc.
Kerkar was arrested on charges of kidnapping. As per the police complaint the mother of the kidnapped son claimed that she was living at Kerkar’s house as she was helpless. During her stay, Kerkar had allegedly been forcing the mother to sell her child, which she had refused. Last Saturday, Kerkar allegedly locked the mother, sold it to an unknown person and asked the mother to leave.
