Team to survey Kalsa-Bhandura project today

BELGAUM: Continuing its efforts to revive work on the controversial Kalsa-Bhandura water diversion project, the Karnataka government will send a high-powered delegation, headed by Water Resources Minister M B Patil, to survey the project on Tuesday.

BELGAUM: Continuing its efforts to revive work on the controversial Kalsa-Bhandura water diversion project, the Karnataka government will send a high-powered delegation, headed by Water Resources Minister M B Patil, to survey the project on Tuesday.
Speaking at a news conference, Minister for Rural Development H K Patil said the Karnataka government is serious in implementing the project and is confident of doing so at in near future. 
“Minister for Water Resources M B Patil, who will be in Belgaum on Tuesday to review the situation of various irrigation projects in the district, has also convened a meeting and will be visiting Kankumbi on Tuesday,” H K Patil said.
According to a government press release, a high-level delegation comprising senior officials, political leaders and experts will accompany M B Patil to take stock of the situation on Tuesday to expedite means to vacate the stay by Goa on the project.
