Apple issues iOS update after pulling buggy version
Apple’s response to a high-profile gaffe involving its
iPhone software may be more important than the
glitch itself. As the giant tech company scrambled to
fix a software glitch that left some of its new iPhones
unable to make calls, some analysts said that Apple
is doing the right thing by quickly acknowledging
and apologising for the problem — which it was
slower to do with earlier iPhone problems. Apple
released a new update on Friday that the company
said would repair the problems caused by software
it released on Thursday morning. And it repeated an
earlier apology to owners of its newest iPhones who
were affected by that buggy release.
Later in the day, Apple released a new update,
dubbed iOS 8.0.2, which it said would fix the
problems caused by the iOS 8.0.1 update that it
released on Thursday. Apple said users affected by
the software glitch can connect their phone to a Mac
or Windows computer and download a file to restore
an earlier version of the iOS 8 software.
Sony launches Xperia Z3 & Z3 compact smartphones
Sony has officially announced the launch of its Xperia Z3
and Z3 Compact smartphones in India. The smartphones
are priced at Rs 51,999 and Rs 44.990 respectively. Sony
also announced plans to launch the Smartband talk and
Smartwatch 3 in December.
The Xperia Z3 is the latest flagship from Sony. Successor
to the Xperia Z2, the new Sony smartphone has 5.2-inch
full HD display. It is powered by 2.5 GHz Qualcomm
Snapdragon 801 chipset along with 3GB RAM.
The Xperia Z3 Compact has a 4.6-inch 720p display.

smartphone has 20.7MP camera with 1/2.3-type
EXMOR-RS CMOS with G Lens, CMOS image, BIONZ for

technology. With the two size options, customers

GetActive tapp fitness band launched
2mpower Health Management Services has
launched GetActive tapp, a Bluetooth enabled
personal health and activity tracker for Rs 4,999.
The fitness tracker is available exclusively on
e-commerce retailer Myntra.
The GetActive tapp fitness tracker monitors your
daily physical activity like steps taken in a day,
calories burnt, distance covered in ‘km’, and nonsedentary
time spent. The tracker uses Bluetooth
Low Energy (BLE) to communicate automatically
with mobile phones. The device can be synced with
a smartphone to deliver fitness statistics. GetActive
will also provide points for every step taken that
can be redeemed in GetActive’s partner ecosystem.
GetActive tapp will compete with Xiaomi Mi Band
which is expected to be launched in India later this
year.
AMD Radeon R9 285 graphics card for 4K gaming
At the AMD Technology showcase 2014 in Bardez, Goa,

price of Rs 19,990, the Radeon R9 285 graphics card
