There maybe efforts to transgress Separation of Powers: Union Law Minister

In a startling statement, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has said the Separation of Powers was discussed at the Commonwealth Law Conference since there may be some efforts to transgress into another’s territory. It is fraught with a lot of risks. Though the doctrine of Separation of Powers is there in the constitution, it is discussed since there may be some challenges to it. He however did not say in which country there were efforts to transgress the separation of powers doctrine.

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju firmly asserted that the Indian Judiciary was 100% independent. 56 countries are attending the Commonwealth Law Conference in Goa which will be from 5th to 9th March 2023. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said Goa’s Uniform Civil Code was appreciated at the Conference.
