MAPUSA: A 12-yr-old school boy from Parra was injured when he was hit by a speeding Thar vehicle driven by a tourist on the famous ‘Zindagi’ road (Maddani) at Parra on Saturday.
Sources stated that the boy was going for tuition classes on his bicycle when he was knocked down by the jeep bearing registration no GA 03 AH 6739.
Police stated that the driver who was proceeding from Anjuna to Parra drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and knocked down Ritesh Kanojiya.
He was immediately shifted to North District hospital where he is presently undergoing treatment for minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the jeep driver Prashant Harwal, a resident of Bijapur, Karnataka was booked by the Mapusa police under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and endangering human life.
This famous road has become an accident prone zone as tourists flock to the area to take photos and videos often blocking it and hampering the smooth flow of traffic.
