VALPOI: Heavy rains on Sunday evening caused a landslide at Chorla Ghat, paralysing the traffic for some time.
According to Valpoi Police, some boulders along with few trees came crashing down on the main road at few places at Chorla Ghat at about 5 pm on Sunday. Mud accumulated on the road near the Sattari border. However, light vehicles managed to ply, while heavy vehicles were left stranded till the road was cleared late evening.
Police further said there was no damage to any vehicle due to the landslide. A police team led by PI Ramesh Gaonkar rushed to the spot and controlled traffic congestion till the road was cleared.
