PANJIM: Welcoming the Centre’s decision to permit the resumption of the e-Visa facility to travellers from the United Kingdom, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the decision will benefit all the stakeholders in the tourism industry of Goa.
Reacting to the development he said, “I thank Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs for resuming the e-Visa facility for the UK nationals travelling to India. The decision shall bring ease to the tourists who are travelling to India and Goa. It will benefit all the stakeholders in tourism sector of Goa.”

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said that the tourists from UK after the revival of the e-Visa will play a big role as far as Goa tourism is concerned.
He said “Goa Government’s repeated appeals have borne fruits as the Centre revived e-Visas for UK travellers to India. I personally thank PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on behalf of Goans as this not only brings back tourists but also our Goan brethren who can enjoy the festive season in Goa.”
“Tourists from UK play a dominant role in the tourism of Goa. The revival of the e-Visa for UK and the influx of the UK tourists will play a big role as far as Goa tourism is concerned,” Khaunte added.
Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) too thanked the State government as well as the Centre for reinstating the UK e-Visa facility. “With the reinstating of the e-Visa maximum flights will come to Goa with full capacity. It will help in revival of the foreign tourists in Goa,” said TTAG President Nilesh Shah.
