Claiming that wholesale fish vendors are still discreetly selling fish, Vasco fish vendors on Wednesday marched to the Mormugao Municipal Council. Mormugao Municipal Council’s Chairperson Leo Rodrigues stated the wholesale shops have been shut down and an MMC team will be sent to demolish the temporary sheds outside the wholesale stalls.
He also assured to deploy police after MMC working hours to keep a check. On Monday, Fish vendors led by Custodio D’Souza warned the MMC of selling fish from the Municipality building if the wholesalers and roadside vendors are not stopped.
