MARGAO: A veteran journalist and well-known Marathi writer Ashok Naik Tuenkar from Navelim passed away at the age of 70 in a private hospital on January 21 at Margao.

He was a recipient of several awards including State level literature award, besides his literary works were appreciated and recognised by the several institutions from Mumbai, Pune, and Belgaum. 

Teacher turned journalist late Ashok had given great contribution in the field of Marathi journalism in Goa. He has several marathi books to his credit which include ‘Caleidoscope’, ‘Nanrukh’, ‘Shanti Avedena’ (All poetry books), ‘Suryakotti SamPrabh(Drama), ‘ManPut'(Noval), ‘Hansolli’, ‘Jhapiachi Jhapegiri’.
