Independent MLA from Fatorda Vijai Sardesai has said that the ground reality in Goa is similar to that in Bihar or Delhi with the people being completely disgusted with the BJP government and hence it was upto the Congress to choose whether they would follow the Bihar formula or choose to repeat the history of Delhi.
“The stand of the AICC General Secretary is not surprising as he seems to have toed the line of the local Congress leadership. However, his advice to the Congress leaders in Goa to either attack the BJP government in the state or join the BJP summarises the actual situation, where the State Congress leaders are showing growing intolerance to the Independents who are the real voices of the Opposition whilst being tolerant to the anti-people BJP government,” Sardesai said.
Sardesai, who recently announced plans to form the third front along with two other independent MLAs, added that all the secular, progressive self respecting Goans would go ahead with forming a new regional party whose High Command would be located in Goa itself.
