Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardessai on Tuesday acknowledged that development in Mormugao had come to halt due to non-appointment of Authority (Chairman and Members) at Mormugao Planning and Development Authority (MPDA).
However, he assured to raise the issue before Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar during the Cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday, so that the issue can be resolved as quickly as possible.
“Due to delay in appointing the PDA Chairman and members the development in Mormugao has come to halt and I am fully aware of it,” Sardesai said, adding that under such circumstances even if we want to help somebody, we cannot.
Since this issue of delay in appointment of MPDA Chairman and transfer of powers to third authority is important, I will raise the issue in the cabinet meeting, he said.
