VALPOI: In a big boost to the villagers of Melauli, fourteen villages from Sattari taluka came forward on Tuesday to support them in their fight against the IIT project.

The villagers further warned the BJP government and demanded that the IIT project in the village be dropped. They reiterated that they are all with the people of Melauli and threatened to teach the BJP a lesson in the 2021 assembly elections if the government fails to take back the IIT project.
The villages who were came in support of Melauli village in their fight against IIT project are Mauxi, Dhamshe, Khotodem, Savarde, Shir, Tar, Velgem, Budruk Karmali, Saleli, Kudshe, Kumthol, Karonzol, Hondan, Shirsode, Barazan, Khadaki, Kumbarkhan and Poriem.
Further, there were reactions to the video released by Valpoi BJP MLA and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Reacting to the video, the villagers of Melauli, supported by the Sattari locals said, “Vishwajit Rane is a big liar and fraud. There is something cooking in the video released by him on social media regarding Melauli village. We will never trust Vishwajit. The Health Minister has said many bad words to us. He has harassed us badly. He hurt us deeply. We will never pardon him. We will teach him a lesson,” said the local villagers.
“Let the government first scrap the IIT project from Shel Melauli village officially. Let the government also remove all the (criminal) sections which have been put on our villagers without any reason. It should be removed immediately,” they added.
“Whatever the Health Minister said in the social media video are all unofficial things. Whatever he has said, we want that officially on paper. Unless and until, we don’t get anything official about the IIT project being scrapped, we will continue our protest against it,” they said, while adding, “Vishwajit’s BJP government is a liar.”
