Herald: What has the last year been like?
Rafael: It’s only when you’ve gone through what we’ve gone through that you’ll realise what it feels like.
Raju: First off all, we didn’t even know who this boy was. We’d never seen him before. I can’t even remember his face. Someone else said something and we were caught in the middle.
Rafael: We were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Recovery took some time, but I can only say that God saved me. For someone to do something like this, it was crazy.
Herald: Are you angry about what happened to you?
Raju: Absolutely. If it were my mistake, I would have kept quiet. But when I’d not done anything wrong and not said anything wrong why should we have to go through this? This is not the treatment we should have got. You can’t raise a weapon on someone just like that.
Rafael: I’m not upset about anything. But I feel sad that I was there. I could have avoided the situation. I don’t even know who he is. Maybe if we were a little more mature, the situation would have been different. Honestly, I didn’t feel any pain. Only the day after I came out of the coma, just the positioning of the head was the most terrible moment.
Herald: What is the status of the case?
Rafael: He was taken to court and matter was filed and within a week he was bailed out but he was in jail for eight months. Let the law take its course and it will and he will not survive in the High Court. Currently it is in the session’s court. Maybe the law takes its time, but justice will come.
